Who We Are

Laurel Acres Property Owners Association (LAPOA) is a nonprofit community association serving approximately 160 property owners along the northern and eastern shores of West Hill Pond in Barkhamsted, Connecticut. Founded in 1955, LAPOA was established to enhance and preserve the shared facilities, recreational opportunities, and sense of community that make Laurel Acres a special place to live and enjoy.

The Association maintains common amenities, including its private beach and boating facilities, while working to protect the character, beauty, and family-friendly atmosphere of the neighborhood.
For more than seventy years, LAPOA has brought neighbors together through stewardship, recreation, and community events. From maintaining shared spaces and supporting lake access to hosting seasonal gatherings, picnics, concerts, and the annual bonfire, the Association is dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment for residents and their families. Guided by a commitment to responsible ownership, community involvement, and the long-term enjoyment of West Hill Pond, LAPOA continues to build on a tradition of preserving and enhancing the Laurel Acres experience for current and future generations.
